Jeanneau Sunfast 39 for Yacht Survey Leros Greece

Todays Survey assignment was an Insurance Survey on this Jeanneau Sun Fast 39, designed by Jacques Fauroux and built by Jeanneau in 1991.

She is a more performance oriented version of the Sun Charm 39. This one had some keel issues, and had probably been aground at some stage.

Cracked structural frame's, indicating upward pressure from the keel

Time for new gas hoses!

Significant corrosion to the keel bolts. Why?

Teak planking detached from sub deck

Spot the key-way on the steering quadrant. The key has come out!

Jeanneau Sun Oddysey 39i for Marine Survey for Insurance

Todays Survey assignment was on a small island in the north Aegean called Leros. The municipality includes the populated offshore island of Farmakonisi, as well as several uninhabited islets, including Levitha and Kinaros and had a population of 7,917, although this figure swells to over 15,000 during the summer peak. Nearby islands are PatmosLipsiKalymnos, and the small islands of Agia Kyriaki and Farmakos

The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 39i shares many of the qualities of the 39 DS. Thanks to a generous beam carried well aft, interior volume is greater than one would expect on a 39-footer. The boat’s a breeze to operate under sail or power: The helm is light, and the boat responds obediently to a flick of the fingers on the wheel.

Next stop is Preveza starting from May the 5th 2022, so if you have your eye on a yacht in Preveza, Nidri, Lefkada drop me a message at steventruss1@aol.com

2008 Beneteau 50.4 Cyclade for Sale and Yacht Survey Greece

Todays Yacht Survey assignment was in Lefkada, Ionian Islands, Greece this 2008 Beneteau 50.4 Cyclades Sloop for sale.
Yes she's built in a production facility, probably quite quickly, but I was impressed overall compared to other production built yachts and pleasantly surprised how well she had been put together. They are highly sought-after this model and for a good reason. She features a very desirable, accommodating layout for a 50 footer. Perfect for charter in Greece!

Each cabin features its own head and shower. There is also a crew/storage/workshop way forward, accessed through a foredeck hatch. A spacious galley to port with ample fridge/freezer space and seating for 10+ around the dining table to starboard.

Lots of power with this nice looking 110HP Yanmar diesel

Todays Marine Survey in Nidri Preveza

‘Glaros’ was originally built as a Caïque, (a traditional fishing boat) usually found among the waters of the Ionian or Aegean Sea. Today, this type of vessel, varying in size are popular for tourist charters. Caïques were built on the foreshore in a shipyard from pine wood.

20 years ago the owner stripped her out for a major refit.

Nidri is full of wooden boats under repairs!

Found yourself a Wooden boat in Greece and need a Survey, please drop me an email.

UK Marine Surveyor and Consultant operating in Greece

Another trip to Lipsi this week before preparing for our month in Preveza. We already have a Broadblue Catamaran booked and a 24m wooden Gulet in Lefkada. Plenty of spaces left so if you have your eye on a Yacht in the Ionian islands, Preveza, Lefkada or Nidri drop me a message today at steventruss1@aol.com

Lipsi is a small  group of islets at the northern part of the Dodecanese near to Patmos island and Leros

If you travel from Rhodes or Kos you can use on daily basis the Catamaran Dodekanissos. Lipsi does not have daily connections with ferries from Athens Greece so you can get there either from Patmos or Leros. During the summer there is once a week connection with the Cyclades island of Mykonos with the ferry boat Milena from Leros.

Has to be done!
