Broom 29

I was at 'Le Boat Hirers' in Horning today. I havent been to this Yard for a while, last time was when John Butler of Waterside Marine ran it. Will never forget this hoist.... a total one off!!

This semi displacement Andrew Worlstenholme designed river cruiser came in 2 forms either hard top with wheelhouse or full cockpit and folding hood. The spacious open plan interior offered 4 berths within the cabin with features such as hot water shower and fridge.

Notice anything missing.... comments please!

A flat bed hoist operating through drums and cables..basically a lift!

The standard single engine for the 29 ST is a 35HP 4.150HE Nanni diesel, although larger engines up to 62HP are also possible.
The baby of the Broom range, the 29 is a medium powered displacement cruiser designed mainly as a river boat but with a capacity for estuary cruising. Produced in hard top or soft top format, the 29 is popular on the Broads as well as other river systems with restricted air draught.

The compact accommodation provides a double cabin forward as well as an occasional single berth in the saloon sofa. The roomy aft cockpit doubles up as living space with the provision of a good quality canopy.

Surveyors comment: Not much to say about this model. This one was built for Emerald Star Line in Ireland and the year was 1993. There are no hull numbers, so build dates can be conflicting. Check the hull number with the Broom archives. Broom hold records of every boat built.
Good access for inspection.... this light cruiser would benefit from a bow thruster installation.
