Motor Cruiser Singapore II’

Surveyed this beautifull old Motor Cruiser today. This is the second time ive inspected this boat.. the last time was 5 years ago! Constructed to a design relevant to the 1930’s by the yard Boatbuilding & Engineering Co Ltd, Walton on Naze, England. She is of a round bilge construction in displacement configured hull with a short keel, shallow draft, fairly straight stem and flat transom.

Sheerline in Thorpe are still busy building new motor cruisers....
Apparently in 1940 her owner had her built for east coast fishing, Singapore II was kept in Ipswich. Sub Lieut. F.E. Greenfell took her to Dunkirk and J.B. Patston bought her after the war in 1965 for his work as a naturalist. He lived in Lincolnshire and cruised the area of the Fens and the Wash. A collector of steam launches and a boat owner since the 1920s, he established a number of nature reserves.

Galeon Galia 990 Sports Cruiser

Today’s assignment was at Norfolk Yacht Agency in Brundall. A Pre- Purchase Survey on this Polish built Sports Cruiser. I am Surveying a few of these cruisers, and in my opinion the Galia 990 looks fantastic; has handling that will put a smile on your face and has a great quality cabin finish - the perfect combination.

Todays 'lift' was at Broadland Boat Centre they offer a 'one stop shop' for maintenance and refurbishment on this type of motor cruiser. Sealine 350

Today’s assignment was Surveying this Sealine 350 for Pre-purchase and Valuation.

The 350 is one of the rarer Sealine flybridge cruisers i have seen. I have only surveyed a couple of these over the last few years. The interior features 6 + 2 berth accommodation including a refined saloon, two double cabins, separate shower and separate toilet; all of which are lavishly appointed to Sealine standards. The cockpit provides easy access to the flybridge helm and sunbathing area, by way of steps that are safe and convenient to use. The eye catching design and excellent shaft drive performance combine to produce a desirable and very capable sea going cruiser.

Colvic 26 Sailer

I took a trip to Bells marina in Brundall today to Survey this small family cruising yacht with a surprisingly spacious interior for her size, and with twin bilge keels allowing drying out.

The Colvic Sailer 26 hulls were moulded by Colvic Ltd., and sold in quite large numbers both to professional boatyards and to home completers for fitting out. One of the major builders using these hulls was Atlanta, who sold the resulting boat as the Atlanta 26.

The hulls have twin bilge keels moulded in as an integral part of the hull, with internal encapsulated ballast. These keels are near vertical, unlike the angled-out bolt-on iron keels found on yachts such as the Westerly. This made moulding easier but is less efficient under sail.

As many boats were home completed to individual ideas, you will often find alternative layouts.....

Price guide £8 to £10,000
