Thinking about buying or insuring a boat in Preveza Greece??

This weeks assignments

I must apologise for my lack in Blogging, but boat sales have not stopped at all this year. 'Busy' is an understatement!

We had a good trip to Greece to look at the Wooden Ketch built by Porter and Haylett in Wroxham. Unfortunately the teak decks had 'broken up' due to the excessive heat out there, and the cost to replace was around 15,000 Euros! It was a very professionally run yard in Leros with a qualified English rigger who we called on. A local marine engineer who had a look at a problem on the steering system. A master joiners shop who gave me the quote for the decks, and the Greek Manger at the mariner was excellent at his job. Nothing was to much trouble and a refreshing change from some of the slow going yards I come across.

 Leros Marina

All Yachts with only the odd Motor Cruiser.

One of the old pine Gullets rotting away in the corner of the yard. Free to a good home!

A beautiful Old Gaffer that came in to anchor every evening... One day!

160 Ton hoist for lifting 'Cats'. Probably the most popular boats in the Greek islands, as they have little draft.

Our friendly English Rigger Bob helping out.

I think this was one of those typical Danish "Spisgatter" moored up on the prom. OMG!

This was Kalymnos on the way back....

A dream of mine nearly 15 years ago! Its a long story lol!

This weeks surveys. This was an 'In Water Survey' - unusual, but that was the instruction

This one an Insurance Survey- a real beauty 'Monas Queen', built by Herbert Woods

A Valuation Survey on this Phantom 43, a rare boat!

This Bounty 37 being sold through Norfolk Boat Sales, who have had a really good run of sales lately.

Thought id throw this one in - Our latest Half Decker!

Another rare one - this Broom Aquafibre 38. These boats hold their price, the perfect Broads Cruiser.

Loved for their French design and flare! This Jeanneau Prestige 36, again sold through Norfolk Boat Sales.
