My role as a Marine Surveyor is to look over all aspects of the boat and report on its condition, systems and what needs doing. My reports are in plain English and are often used to discuss prices with the broker, raise finance and obtain insurance. You already know how important a comprehensive and thorough survey is. 

From me you will get my “plain English” approach with feedback on your potential purchase. Rest assured my surveys are fair, realistic, pragmatic and explain to the potential purchaser all my findings. I never scaremonger, I simply seek to provide a fair survey, that assists the purchaser and the broker, and ensures the purchaser buys with his eyes open. This weeks assignment a Pre-Purchase Marine Survey in Preveza on this 2001 Bavaria 50. Both above and below deck just feels really spacious and well laid out, with everything you could need both close to hand and easily accessible.

With all this space and 5 generous sized cabins there's plenty of room for friends! Also, it's no problem if not all your friends can sail - this boat can easily be handled by just 1 or 2, due to a furling headsail, in-mast furling mainsail and bow thruster for tighter marinas as required.

It was definitely time for a new owner for this attractively priced, comfortable and spacious cruising yacht. Built very strong in this period of the Bavaria boatbuilding story. Great price for such a big boat at 90K Euro.

Marine Survey on this Leopard 47 for sale in Preveza

Today's assignment was to carry out a Hull Survey on this Leopard 47 Catamaran from the designers Robertson & Caine and was previously named Cruising World‘s “Best Charter Boat of the Year”.

Surveyors comment: Leopard almost need no introduction. The South African boat builder has been producing catamarans for many years, and have a proven track record of building good quality production cats that are popular options for both the charter fleet and cruisers.

Pre-Purchase Marine Survey on this Elan Impression 45

Today's Survey assignment is a Pre-Purchase Survey on this Elan Impression 45 - 3 Cabin "Owners Layout" with single aft cabin - Built 2019. 

Elan’s recognizable 3D VAIL composite technology creates a light, stiff and incredibly safe construction style. VAIL, or vacuum-assisted infusion lamination process creates a solid hull without imperfections or air bubbles, which, in combination with the vinyl ester outer layer makes the yacht osmosis-proof. The “3D” part of vacuum-assisted infusion lamination is applied to the vertical and lateral stringers, which ensures the best mechanical properties of the hull and rigging and is the secret behind Elan’s famed hull stiffness.
